Dr. Patricia Frischtak: Pioneering Psychopharmacologist For Adults and Children
Dr. Frischtak is the Medical Director of Washington Interventional Psychiatry’s Rockville, Maryland office. She is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who specializes in psychopharmacology and interventional psychiatry for children, teens, and adults.
She completed adult psychiatry residency at the Mayo Clinic and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital.
She treats a broad range of conditions across the lifespan, including [ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and mood disorders], and works closely with parents and families when the patient is a child or teen.
For adolescents 15 and older whose depression hasn’t responded to medication, she offers TMS, which is FDA-cleared as an add-on treatment for depression in this age group. For adults, she also brings experience with TMS and ketamine-based treatments.
Her approach is grounded in the biopsychosocial model: understanding biology, psychology, and life circumstances together before recommending treatment, and keeping communication open with patients and families throughout. She sees patients at our Rockville office [and by telehealth across Maryland and DC].
