Comprehensive Psychiatric Care in Washington , DC.

At WIP, we care for the full range of psychiatric needs — from initial evaluation for depression to complex conditions like treatment-resistant depression and PTSD that haven’t responded to multiple medications. Care spans all ages: our team includes five fellowship-trained child and adolescent psychiatrists. Every patient works directly with a board-certified psychiatrist who oversees their care and applies the right tools based on their clinical needs.

Alongside comprehensive medication management, we offer Spravato, ketamine therapy, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and stellate ganglion block (SGB)each a clinically grounded tool, applied thoughtfully within an individualized treatment plan.

Psychiatric care is rarely a one-time fix. Many of the conditions we treat are chronic, requiring ongoing evaluation, adjustment, and support over time. Our approach reflects this—integrating interventional treatments within a broader framework of continuous, psychiatrist-led care.

WIP Psychiatry & Ketamine/TMS Center is located in Washington, DC and serves patients throughout Maryland and Virginia.

How We Practice.

At WIP, medication management and interventional care sit within a single clinical framework — grounded in thorough diagnosis, thoughtful treatment planning, and ongoing clinical decision-making.

Psychiatry is not static. Treatment evolves.

Psychiatrists are trained to assess how symptoms change over time — with life circumstances, medical conditions, and prior treatment response — and to adjust care accordingly. Medications, ketamine, TMS, Spravato, and stellate ganglion blocks are not separate or procedural options. They are tools, considered and adjusted as the clinical picture changes.

Our psychiatrists can meet weekly in case conference. Complex cases are presented and reviewed by the group, drawing on subspecialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry — so a difficult case gets multiple perspectives, not one, without leaving the practice.

Our Team:

Psychiatry is not delivered by a single clinician. It is delivered by a system — the same system whether the treatment is a medication, an infusion, or a course of TMS. At WIP, that system is thirty-three people, each with a defined role:

  • 13 psychiatrists, board-certified, who evaluate every patient and own every interventional treatment plan
  • 1 anesthesiologist, who performs stellate ganglion blocks
  • 2 psychiatric nurse practitioners, who provide medication management and follow-up within psychiatrist-led plans
  • 4 registered nurses, who administer ketamine and Spravato sessions and monitor patients throughout
  • 2 TMS technicians, who deliver daily and accelerated protocols under psychiatrist supervision
  • 11 administrative and care-coordination staff, who manage scheduling, refills, reimbursement filing, and prior authorizations through to decision

This roster is not fixed. When schedules approach capacity, we hire — so new patients are seen without a waitlist.

During clinic hours, a staff member is available to speak with directly. Refills and pharmacy problems are handled by a person, not a portal.

The coordination is not overhead. The system is the treatment.

Training includes Yale, Cornell, Columbia, and Mount Sinai. Five psychiatrists are fellowship-trained in child and adolescent psychiatry, with further subspecialty training in addiction and forensic psychiatry across the group. WIP is a Georgetown University teaching site

WIP is a private-pay practice. For daily TMS, we are in-network with United Healthcare. For all other services, we partner with Reimbursify to assist with out-of-network insurance reimbursement.  For daily TMS, we are In Network for United Healthcare.
