Victoria Sherk LPC has been providing behavioral health counseling for 19 years, serving residents of the District of Columbia in a variety of clinical settings including community treatment centers and in private practice. She received her undergraduate degree at Sarah Lawrence College in 1996, and obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling at San Francisco State University in 2003 with concentrations in Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling. Victoria primarily utilizes evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion, focusing on the individual needs and preferences of each client.  Victoria has focused throughout her career on the treatment of trauma, in addition to anxiety and mood disorders.  Her work is defined by her person-centered style, approaching her clients with authenticity, positive regard and empathy.

Victoria became a member of DC’s Board of Professional Counseling in 2017, and has been in the role of Chairperson since 2022. She values the opportunity to serve fellow clinicians and residents of the District by ensuring applicants for licensure and those currently practicing adhere to the regulations and ethical standards of the profession.
