Dr. Leslie Rokoske: Expert in Women’s Mental Health
Dr. Leslie Rokoske is a highly respected, board-certified psychiatrist with a profound specialization in women’s mental health across all life stages. With over 24 years of experience post-residency, her journey has been marked by a deep commitment to providing comprehensive care to her patients.
In her early career, Dr. Rokoske dedicated her expertise to community mental health, focusing on adults dealing with severe mental illness. In the latter half of her career, her focus shifted towards a particular passion—treating anxiety-related disorders in women during critical hormonal phases. This includes pre-menstrual, intra/post-partum, and peri/post-menopausal periods.
Dr. Rokoske’s specialization encompasses a range of conditions, including Anxiety (OCD, GAD, and Panic), mild mood disorders (Depression and Cyclothymia), and attentional syndromes (ADHD and ADD).
Her journey started with cum laude graduation from Georgetown University, where she excelled in both biology and English. She then pursued her medical training at Duke University, followed by a residency in Adult Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The George Washington University, where she served as the inpatient chief resident.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Rokoske’s personal experiences as a parent of three children, including twins, have enriched her understanding of her patients’ complex lives. She encourages her patients to embrace a balanced life by engaging in activities outside the realm of mental health, such as exercising, writing, and traveling.
Dr. Rokoske’s approach to psychiatry is not just about treating symptoms—it’s about supporting individuals in leading fulfilling lives.
