Barry Shapiro is a licensed therapist with a Master’s in Social Work. His journey in mental health has taken him through a variety of clinical settings, where he has had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. His therapeutic approach is rooted in several evidence-based models, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He is committed to creating a non-judgmental and compassionate space for you and believes that every individual deserves to feel truly heard and cared for.
Barry’s goal is to tailor treatment to meet your unique needs, helping you navigate challenges and fostering personal growth. He is particularly passionate about exploring the integration of IFS with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). This innovative approach offers a powerful opportunity for healing, allowing individuals to access deeper parts of themselves and promote lasting change.
Outside of his work, Barry enjoys kayaking, playing basketball, and being outdoors with friends. Finally and most importantly, he enjoys playing fetch with his two cats, Lana and Ollie.
