Dr. Marc Dalton is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist in Washington, DC with more than 20 years of experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions. He provides psychiatric care for children, teenagers, and adults, with particular expertise in child and adolescent mental health.

Dr. Dalton completed his undergraduate education at Wake Forest University before pursuing medical training and a general psychiatry residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He later completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School, one of the leading programs in child psychiatry. He is board certified in both General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Dalton treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions affecting children and adolescents, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related conditions, mood disorders, and behavioral challenges. His clinical approach combines comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and collaboration with families, therapists, and schools to support healthy emotional and developmental outcomes.

In addition to treating children and adolescents, Dr. Dalton also provides psychiatric care for adults, including treatment for depression, anxiety disorders, and mood conditions.

Dr. Dalton holds a Master of Public Health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, which informs his broader perspective on mental health care, prevention, and community-based treatment. Over the course of his career, he has served in leadership roles across multiple healthcare systems, including Chief Clinical Officer for the DC Department of Behavioral Health, where he helped guide mental health services throughout the region.

He has also held academic appointments at Children’s National Medical Center, Georgetown University School of Medicine, George Washington University School of Medicine, Louisiana State University School of Medicine, and Harvard Medical School, contributing to the education and training of future physicians.

Dr. Dalton has been actively involved in community mental health initiatives, including helping develop crisis intervention and de-escalation training for the DC Metropolitan Police Department, supporting improved responses to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
