Dr. Joyce Chung is a seasoned psychiatrist based in Washington, DC, with a focus on treating hard-to-treat conditions. She has over a decade of experience at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in consultation and liaison services and currently serves as the Executive Director of Graduate Medical Education.
Her research is dedicated to improving mental health care access for minority and underserved populations and exploring the connection between mental and medical illnesses. At NIMH, she led significant studies on adolescent mental health, volunteer recruitment for clinical research, and the mental health impact of COVID-19.
Dr. Chung will be joining WIP’s interventional clinic, bringing her expertise in treating adults with treatment-resistant mood disorders and comorbid medical conditions. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University, completed her psychiatry residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and completed a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chung is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
